Did anyone else see that crazy “light show” in Bozeman last night?
One of the perks of living in “Big Sky Country” is…well, the big sky. We’re certainly lucky to get some pretty amazing views of all those gorgeous stars that light up the sky here in Montana.
I was going to work this morning and noticed that the moon was incredibly big. I had heard that we were going to have a “Super Moon”, but I had totally forgotten about it until about 4:40 this morning when I was driving south on the 19th, and there it took up much of the sky.
Let me say this: I don’t think I remember ever seeing the moon that big. However, that wasn’t the only thing happening in the sky at night.
A Reddit user posted what looks like some sort of shooting star or comet hovering over Bozeman last night. Thanks to Orian Herman, who was hanging out at Genuine Ice Cream here in Bozeman and captured the video below.
That wasn’t the only video that was captured. On the Space Weather site, there was another video from another angle which was also very impressive.
So what was it? Well, that’s being debated on Reddit right now. Some people say it’s just space junk, while others claim it’s satellites. Of course, there have been a few people who have suggested UFOs as a possible answer.
Either way, it certainly made for an impressive sight.
